Akane has a rather restrained temperament, often staying silent and ignoring sleights from others in an attempt to keep everyone happy. Often underestimating herself when it comes to combat, making her less effective as a consequence.

She is quite respectful, generally considered to be quite a kind and thoughtful individual. No longer quite as controllable as she used to be, mostly thanks to her Zanpakuto Spirit’s influence on her. More headstrong than she used to be.

Though she has quite a calm temperament, and goes out of her way to ensure she doesn’t get overwhelmed to lash out at others whenever possible.

Akane generally wears a standard Shihakushō, with the only non-standard part of her uniform being a small, neatly tied, red silk scarf around her neck.

Akane’s fighting style has leaves a lot to be desired, while she does boast an impressive potential it remains untapped. Her primary role however is to utilize this latent power to overwhelm her foes as quickly as possible.

ZANPAKUTO

Sealed Appearance:

Akane’s Zanpakuto in its base form has changed into a more refined if generic Katana. While of excellent build the weapon does not have any other features of note.

SHIKAI

Zanpakuto Name: Arashi (Storm)
Callout Phrase: Blade of purification, grant me power.
Inner World: The inner realm of Akane’s zanpakuto is a castle, it’s most central location being an extravagant throne room. Its halls are seemingly endless, but all seem to somehow lead back to the central room.

Constant Release: Due to the often immense potency of the girl’s spiritual energy and her complete inability to properly control it, it seems that Akane has too much innate energy for her blade to revert to its base form. Its most stable being shikai. When wounded or exhausted it may revert.

Soranoken (Empty Sword): Layers of spiritually powered wind encompass Akane’s blade, bending light in such a way that it renders her blade completely invisible. Making it difficult to gauge its shape and length. This is a passive ability when drawn from its sheath, as if she were simply drawing a hilt without a blade. An added ability is to temporarily make the blade intangible. This allows for varied approaches to attacks.

Soranoken: Harikēnrasshu (Empty Sword: Hurricane Rush): Sheathing her blade, Akane takes a low stance before she bursts forward. Rushing beyond her opponent while drawing her blade to attack as she passes by. This attack is designed to keep pressure on her opponents with swift, hard to dodge attacks.

Seinaru Mikadzuki (Holy Crescent): A simple attack, by unleashing a portion of her substantial pool of energy while lashing out with her blade, Akane forms a crescent of dense reiatsu-infused wind that slices through the air at tremendous speeds. The energy attempts to cut clean through whatever it hits, capable of piercing all but the most sturdy of armour and barriers.

Awakening: After learning to control her energy to a finer degree, Akane has learned to harness it in such a way as to condense it into a more powerful force. With its weight she can completely snuff out energy-based abilities by overwhelming them with her own energy.

Bankai Name: Joka no Arashi (Purifying Storm)
Callout Phrase: Purify the unjust, cleanse the wicked.

Shinseina Mikadzuki (Divine Holy Crescent): Channelling the excess of her power into her blade, Akane releases a larger and more concentrated wave of energy. This wave of power is focused into miniscule slivers of dense reiatsu that enhance its cutting ability. Innately a very destructive technique, leaving deep gouges along the land should it travel across it and leveling buildings with ease.

Spirit of the Zephyr: Utilizing the sheer increase in power received in bankai, Akane is capable of particularly high-speed combat. Enhancing the ability of Hurricane Rush, she is capable of launching an intensely swift attack from almost any location to dash forward and strike through her foes, launching herself off of anything she could get a foothold on (Including momentary air-walk if need be) or simply increase the sheer speed of any swing she makes.

Enlightenment: Once released into bankai, Akane’s innate pool of reiryokyu becomes even more overbearing than it already was in shikai. Crushing down upon those around her while granting to ability to snuff out energy based attacks without a hint of exertion on her part.

Toukai: Kanpekina Arashi (Perfect Storm)
Callout Phrase: -
Appearance: Arashi retains its invisible blade, even in toukai. However, Akane’s body begins to emit smoke-like wisps of golden reishi as the concentrated spiritual power attempts to escape.

Hōken (Consecration) -Final Ability-: The most devastating technique Akane knows, used only in the most dire of circumstances due to its incredible destructive power but also the toll it takes on her reserves of energy. Raising her blade above her head, she simply needs to recite the abilities name and strike downwards. The tip of the blade traces a thin golden line that bursts forward with energy as it hits the ground (Or she ends the swing). This line extends towards her target, followed closely by energy crashing down in a wave. Destroying everything in its wake. This energy detonates once it reaches its limit, exploding outwards before dissipating into the air like mist.

- Explodes outwards 25m in either direction once it reaches its limit

Transcendence: Harnessing the entirety of her energy in this form, Akane’s spiritual pressure becomes so great that even those with no sensing at all can feel it pressing down upon them by simply being in her presence.

BACK-DROP

Background:

Akane had a simple childhood, growing up in Tokyo to two wonderful parents. Always doing their best to keep her happy and healthy. They did a good job at it too, she was always doing well in school, never got into trouble and had plenty of friends. The trouble began, however, when she had grown a little. In her teenage years, at about 17, she had begun a relationship with an older boy from out of town, out of the country in-fact.

He was a member of the US Military, a Green Beret who was on leave and in Japan visiting for a time. A perfect gentleman, who had taken quite a liking to the girl. They started going out, staying late into the night. Akane’s parents were worried, a little nervous about the whole ordeal, but decided that their little girl was just growing up. It was getting close to her new love having to head off home when they went on a last date before they could see each other again.

During that night, however, their car was struck by a reckless driver. He had hit the passenger side and sent them barrelling off the road. They were upside down when her lover pulled her out of the wreck. She seemed fine on the outside, but he could tell she was not going to make it. He hugged her close, giving her warmth and love in the final moments before she passed away in his arms.

Akane woke again, surprisingly, in Seireitei with an astounding number of new souls. She could barely take it all in as she was told where to go, off into Rukongai to where she would live. The further she walked though, the worse it seemed to get. Until finally she came across the dilapidated home she was to live in. It wasn’t a nice neighbourhood; in fact it was a little scary being all by herself. She wondered every night if her family, friends and lover were still back at home, worrying about her, missing her. It kept her awake, in her dreams she could not bare to see them all so upset, when she here up here right as rain, waiting to maybe see them again one day.

As luck would have it though, to finally bring her out of the depression that had started to set in thinking about everyone in the world of the living, she was noticed by a patrolling shinigami who noticed her rather potent pool of spiritual power and advised she should apply for the academy. Which she did immediately to get out of the slums. Her timid temperament seemed to confuse some of the instructors, but she did fine in her classes and after six long years she graduated as a fully-fledged shinigami.

For the moment, Akane had not managed to find herself a division to join and with her average scores she wasn’t exactly in high demand but she keeps hope that she’ll find somewhere to go and take her in and finally get to work. Though she cannot help but remember those she left behind and how they might be doing now it had been so long. Maybe she could even get back to the world of the living.

Since then though, it seemed that the young girl had some talent hidden away, locked behind a veil of self-doubt. This was noted by some of the leadership running the Gotei and was quickly given a spot among the 1st division, much to her confusion.
