Jutsu Name: Shakuton: Kajousatsu (灼遁・過蒸殺, Scorch Release: Extremely Steaming Murder)

Jutsu Description: The user creates several flaming orbs that resemble small suns. These orbs rotate around the user and can be freely controlled to attack enemies. When an orb touches an opponent, it apparently evaporates all the water inside their body, leaving them in a mummified state. When this happens, steam can be seen emitting from the opponent's body. However, this technique is vulnerable to Water Release, which can be used to dissipate the heat, becoming steam. This jutsu is short range, not exceeding 5m from the user.

Jutsu Description: Layered on top of a normal wind technique, the air inside becomes as hot as a desert at high noon. The air can cause serious burns on the skin of those who are caught in it.

Jutsu Description: A column of hot wind surrounds the user, creating a vicious updraft serving as a barrier. The wind is hot enough to inflict severe burns to those who are caught in its range.

Jutsu Description: With the user’s hands, or some kind of weapon, the user ushers out a gale or cyclone of hot wind that can cause burns.

Jutsu Description: A torture method, the user places a seal on the opponent that is filled with scorch chakra. The seal inflicts horrible burning pain for up to 10 minutes (B) or one day (A). The seal does not require a seal master to apply, and is relatively easy to remove.

Jutsu Description: An application of Ruinous Sun that causes a weapon to be extremely hot as long as the user supplies it with chakra. A chakra conductive weapon responds especially well with this, allowing it to take on the properties of a fire and wind imbued weapon at the same time.

Jutsu Description: This seal absorbs heat radiated at it, converting it into chakra. The seal can be upscaled to S rank to handle even the heat of a star, although it requires prep time to draw a seal that complex.

Jutsu Name: Hifuuhou: Gaiketsu Youhishi (秘封法: 骸結羊皮紙, Secret Sealing Method: Corpse-Binding Parchment)

Jutsu Description: The user manipulates parchment to encircle and wrap tightly around a target. Once the parchment is in place, the seal locks and any chakra inside becomes inert. In most cases, the entrapped person cannot escape and will suffocate and die inside the parchment.

Clan History

History: The Horobi clan is unique in that they do not settle in one particular place, choosing to live their lives as nomads journeying across Wind Country and occasionally into neighboring lands. This is their tradition, and very few Horobi break it, with a notable exception being those clansmen who have a significant responsibility towards Sunagakure’s shinobi force. Because of this, the Horobi produce relatively few shinobi compared to other clans, preferring to enjoy their traditions instead.

They emerged as an offshoot of another clan. In addition to inheriting their forefathers’ Scorch release, they also chose to specialize in Fuuinjutsu, and so they provide their services to the village by consulting in matters relating to sealing when the village requests it. Shukaku’s seal has historically been drawn up by Horobi clansmen, the most recent of which was done by Jinzou Horobi, the now deceased head of clan and father to Akatsugu Horobi.

Living under the burning sun, the Horobi clan prides itself on being able to withstand the toughest things life can offer. Endurance is their highest virtue. When a student of sealing is ready to become a master, the final step in their tradition is for the student, at the crack of dawn, to draw up their own Burning Death seal and set it in a scroll. Their mentor will then use the Scroll Transfer method to apply the seal to the student. The student must then sit under the sun until nightfall, enduring the pain of the seal the whole time. This embodies the clan’s standard of living: a true Horobi is able to bear the pain he brings to others.
